Ok…well, maybe I’m not an idiot. But I sure felt like one a few minutes ago.
Why? It’s been a little while since I have blogged. No big deal, right? WRONG! Last time I wrote a post, I had just transferred all my stuff over to a self-hosted server. Still not completely familiar with it, I thought that I would just keep doing it and then get it down to a fine science.
Then came the holidays.
Yes, I was overrun with holiday craziness! (One more reason to “downsize” next year’s holiday buying insanity…but more on that later.) I think my brain may have temporarily taken a vacation. Or maybe I just didn’t file this “important information” (how to blog with my server) in an important place.
My family came to my rescue! Props to the RowdyKitten for calming me down and guiding me to the light. 
(You’re awesome girlie!)
So now…here I sit, my brain somewhat fried from trying to figure this out. I just can’t help but laugh. Oh my…I have SO MUCH to learn!

Firstly your not an idiot. Secondly wordpress is a great tool but it leaves frustrating gaps in its tutorials. You know little things like server migration and site updates
. Luckily folks at MacHighway (server services) have a great staff that is always willing to help. Do you know what doodlemonger says when he can’t figure something out that is supposed to be relatively easy? He says “wow, poor design!”. A lot to learn yes, but give yourself credit, the learning curve is steep and the “teachers” aren’t always as obvious as the lessons.

I’m glad that MacHighway is willing to help, I’m also thankful that you all are willing to help as well. So great to know that I’m not doing this alone! I also like what doodlemonger says about “poor design” I’m gonna start using that one! Ha!
Oh…and the spelling thing is nothing…your vocabulary far exceeds anyone that I hang out with. I feel “smarter” just reading your replies. (Oh and I would LOVE reading your blog…hint, hint!)

I didn’t know my ego-defense mechanisms were being studied for their actual merit! Though I guess I can consider myself somewhat of an authority on the whole application design thing.
I’ll end with a profound thought all my own: Never chalk up to ignorance what can be blamed on poor design!
